Finding a good lunch spot shouldn’t be that hard, but the great ones are hard to come by. Quality, affordability and timelines are what makes a lunch spot great. Here is my list for the top lunch gems in the Ogden area.
The number one spot goes to the Lucky Slice. Conveniently located in downtown Ogden, this hole-in-the-wall pizzeria offers up “peace, love and pizza”. You can get pizza by the slice, whole or even delivered in flavors with names like the Carnivore, Bianca and my personal favorite, Fire Island.
Wings and salads are also available. The quality of the food is awesome. The menu is budget friendly with daily and combination specials. Plus, you can be in and out in 20-60 minutes.
The next pick on our list is a franchise that started in St. George, Utah and has grown to 80 locations in 11 states. Café Rio Mexican Grill provides recipes and an atmosphere inspired by traditional cooking from Northern Mexico’s Rio Grande, Southern Texas and New Mexico. You can order a variety of foods from burritos to salads to nachos.
Each day of the week, Café Rio offers a special that is not on their regular menu, making this the top spot for trying something new on your lunch break. With a complete meal for under $10, it’s easy to see how this café made the list.
If you’re in the mood for Chinese food, Golden Jade can more than satisfy your craving. This restaurant just off of Harrison in South Ogden offers a lunch combination menu starting at $6.25.
Combination plates include fried rice or lo mien noodles and an entrée like Szechuan chicken, complete with soup and egg roll. Whether you are dining in or ordering take out, Golden Jade has quick, quality food at a price that’s hard to beat.
You can’t go wrong with the classic burgers, shakes and fries lunch. Best Burger on Riverdale Road has a little bit of everything, and is rumored to have the best burgers around. This burger joint even has fish and salmon burgers on the menu.
In a TripAdvisor review, Mike S. of Layton, Utah said that, “We’ve been to a lot of burger joints and each has its own unique flavors, but this is still our favorite place for a tasty charbroil burger and fries.”
Last, but not least, is Bangkok Garden. This Asian eatery serves its customers authentic Thai and Chinese dishes. Customers can enjoy dishes ranging from pho to pad thai to Chinese stir-fries.
“The lunch special is where it’s at. You get two smaller portions to choose from instead of just one big serving. Quality is spectacular. Servers have always been prompt and polite,” Kieth Stephenson, frequent Bangkok garden customer, said.
With rad reviews, quality food and great prices you are sure to get more bang for your buck at Bangkok Garden.
When you are looking for good food but can’t take a hit to the wallet, give these lunch gems a try. With something for everyone, these spots are sure to leave you satisfied.
