WSU, UM to meet in finals

After a close game against Portland State University, the Weber State University men’s basketball team will play in the conference final tonight against the University of Montana Grizzlies.

This will be the third meeting this season between the two rivals. During the regular season, they split the series, with WSU winning in Ogden, and UM taking the win on the last night of the regular season in Missoula Mont.

This will be the 114th meeting between the two schools.  WSU has played UM more than any opponent in its history.  The Wildcats hold a 64-49 all-time series advantage over the Grizzlies.

While WSU holds the all time advantage, UM has won five of the last seven games played between the two teams.

The Grizzlies have a 30-22 all-time edge in games played in Missoula and have won the last three games in Missoula.

The Wildcats have won eight conference titles, the most of any Big Sky school. UM are second on the list, with seven conference titles.

This will be the 14th time WSU has played in the conference championship game, it’s UM’s 15th trip to the final.

Last night the Wildcats narrowly knocked off PSU to book their place in the conference final. The Grizzlies defeated Eastern Washington University in a close game to advance to the finals.

The winner of the Big Sky championship will get head to the NCAA Tournament next week.
