Weber State University’s Spirit Squad hosted young competitive cheerleaders from across the nation in an event known as The Future Flyer Faceoff which took place in Swenson Gym on March 8.
The event gave young cheerleaders the opportunity to travel from multiple states and come together to learn a cheer and stunting routine to perform in front of one another and their families, from some of Weber State’s own cheerleaders.
Although the event is hosted as a competition, it is held all in good fun to allow young cheerleaders to showcase their skills and to be able to learn new skills from professional cheerleaders as they continue their cheerleading journey.
The Future Flyer competition is also a means to support and fundraise for Weber State cheerleaders as they raise money before heading off to Daytona Beach, Florida, on April 9-13 to compete in the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals.
