On April 13, a free benefit concert was put on at the Browning Center to raise awareness for the endangered Hawaiian monk seal. The concert was put on by Tressa Putnam and the Weber State Zoology department. There was a wide variety of music performed throughout the hour long event.
To start out the night, Kristy Putnam played Chopin’s Sonata in b minor Op. 58, Movements 3 and 4. It was a beautiful rendition and was the perfect song to begin the show. Later in the concert, Adam Garza—the only vocalist of the night—played guitar and sang three original songs: “The Lesser Prize,” “Hearts and Strings” and “Why We’ve Come.”
This free concert was a great way to raise awareness for the conservation of the Hawaiian monk seal. Students and faculty were able to listen to beautiful music and donate to a very worthy cause.
