“Hello 911?” “Hang on, I gotta finish my order first.”
Workers at Clearsight Opticians in Fort Lauderdale, Florida called 911 in September after a man fell out of an exam chair and began to have a seizure.
Their call to 911 went unanswered though, as 911 operator Francis Francois had a bigger emergency on her hands: Should she order cheese or pepperoni pizza?
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Francois was placing a lunch order for her and her co-workers when the 911 call was placed. Investigators say Francois finished her lunch call roughly eight minutes after the call for help came in.
The man from the call eventually recovered and was reportedly fine. Francois was given a letter of reprimand for ignoring the call.

I’m not quite dead
Police arrived at a house in Newaygo County, Michigan on May 13, 2015 to find two people lying dead inside a bedroom.
An hour after arriving at the house, they realized one of the dead bodies wasn’t dead.
A recently released report from the investigation into the incident says that an hour after police conducted a sweep of the house, 47-year-old Glenna Duram was discovered to actually still be alive.
Michigan State Police Sgt. Gary Wilson had asked a neighbor to help remove a dog from the crime scene when he noticed Duram didn’t appear to be dead. When he reached down to check for a pulse, Duram’s eyes opened and she began asking what had happened.
Duram was rushed to a hospital where she eventually recovered from her injuries. The death of her husband, 46-year-old Martin Duram, has been ruled a homicide. No arrests have been made yet.

Let’s remember Martin Luther King Jr. by going out shooting
An attempt to advertise a shooting event on Jan. 18 misfired badly.
Robins Air Force Base in Georgia issued an apology last week after advertisements were posted for a “fun shoot” event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day that predominantly featured King’s face.
King was shot and killed on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee by James Earl Ray.
The base apologized for the lack of oversight regarding the advertisements and said the flier was created without any intended malice.

The first rule of fight club is: you don’t talk about fight club. The second rule is: nap time comes after snack time.
Blankies, juice boxes and fistfights. That was what some children experienced in what Virginia prosecutors called “a baby fight club” at Minnieland Academy in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Last week, 31-year-old Sarah Jordan was convicted of 13 felony and misdemeanor counts ranging from child cruelty to assault and battery.
Witnesses said that Jordan would trip children, spray them in their faces with a hose and would encourage them to get into fights with each other.

Let freedom moo
A cow has been granted a reprieve from the slaughterhouse after making a last ditch escape for freedom.
One day before it was to be slaughtered for beef, the cow escaped from a Queens slaughterhouse and led New York City police on a chase down Jamaica Avenue before it was cornered and captured in a parking garage.
After hearing about the bovine breakout, Mike Stura of the Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Wantage, New Jersey went to the slaughterhouse and convinced the owner to give him the cow.
Stura named the cow Freddie—after singer Freddie Mercury—and has brought it to the sanctuary where it will live the rest of its life without fear of being butchered.
