Athletic training program seeks volunteers
The department of health promotion and human performance at Weber State University is seeking participants for several different research studies in the athletic training programs. According to its website, some of the research studies will offer incentives.
Testing unavailable on Sunday
From 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Oct. 13, WSU will conduct a scheduled disaster recovery test. During this time, Chitester will be unavailable to ensure a proper recovery test. Students are encouraged to prepare ahead of time to submit their tests.
WSUSA hosts Project Lead conference
The WSU Student Association’s leadership team will host the Project Lead 2013 conference, “Leaders of Tomorrow,” on Oct. 17 and 18. The conference is designed to help students grasp what it means to be a leader, and will feature keynote speakers as well as workshops to help participants become better leaders. The cost is $30 per participant; registration ends today.
Student health centers provide free flu shots
Free flu shots are available to all students at the Ogden and Davis campus student health centers. The Ogden Student Health Center is located in the Student Services Building, Room 190. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays). Davis campus hours vary. Students must be willing to provide their W numbers in order to receive flu shots.
Respiratory therapists present Ventilator 5K for lung health
The WSU Respiratory Therapists and the American Respiratory Care Foundation will sponsor the Ventilator 5K on Saturday to raise money for local lung health issues. Based on the success of the event, the WSU Respiratory Therapists have been declared the ARCF national event winners four times in six years, and are hoping to win again.
