Key or ‘Cat claws?
On March 18 at 6:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to a complaint that someone’s car had been keyed. The complainant stated their vehicle had been damaged while on campus. Officers documented the damage, but were unable to determine when the vehicle was vandalized.
Misplaced keys
On March 20 at 7:38 p.m., Weber State University Police Department officers were dispatched to an A lot after a Weber State employee lost keys to a university van. The employee was concerned for the vehicle’s safety, so officers contacted Parking Services to get a boot for the vehicle. Officers told the individual to file a missing item report if the keys were not found by the following Monday.
DUI
On March 21 at 1:55 a.m., WSUPD officers observed a vehicle failing to stay in its lane. Officers stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be intoxicated. Officers conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test, and took the suspect to jail, where they refused an Intoxilyzer test. Officers got a blood warrant and booked the suspect in Weber County Jail.
I’m not mad, just disappointed
On March 23 at 10:50 a.m., WSUPD officers responded to an argument at the Shepherd Union loading dock. Officers arrived to two persons arguing about a parking ticket one had given to the other. Officers gathered information from both individuals, determined that no criminal action took place and helped to resolve the dispute.
Blazing up in the building
On March 30 at 2:37 p.m., officers were informed that someone was smoking pot inside the engineering building. Officers spoke to an individual, and later found drug paraphernalia and marijuana, the individual was charged with possession.
Ashtrays don’t have wheels
On March 30, WSUPD officers responded to a complaint that someone had been putting out cigarettes on the complainant’s car at the dorms. When officers arrived there were two cigarette butts, and two burn marks on the vehicle, as well as spit on the driver side door. In a written statement the complainant gave officers a list of two people they thought might be involved.
