Beus and chill

On March 13 at 1:20 a.m., Weber State University Police Department officers on patrol spotted a car in the Beus Pond parking lot. Officers made contact with the individuals in the backseat of the vehicle and explained they were not allowed in Ogden parks after hours. Officers checked ID to ensure both individuals were over the age of 18 before the individuals were asked to leave.

Hide and seek after dark

On March 14 at 10:31 p.m., a WSUPD officer patrolling the Shepherd Union building saw three to four people running in all black towards the building. Officers found the individuals between the Miller Administration building and Lindquist Hall. The individuals informed officers they were part of a larger group of 12 to 14 people who were playing hide and seek.

Parking lot flash mob

On March 14 at 10:40 p.m., WSUPD officers patrolling the Shepherd Union building for an event noticed individuals dancing in a paid lot nearby. One individual danced provocatively without a shirt on. Music was playing loud enough it could be heard 75 yards out. Officers asked the individuals to leave, some were uncooperative at first, but eventually everyone cleared out.

Tampering and entering

On March 17 at 4:09 a.m., WSUPD officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Weber County Ice Sheet. Officers found a student in the gym. The student admitted to tampering with a door the previous night to allow themselves to enter. The student’s ID was confirmed, and officers informed them not to access buildings without permission.

Identity theft is not a joke

On March 17 at 8:10 a.m., WSUPD officers responded to a call reporting fraud. An individual from out of state got a text saying they owe Weber State money. Officers contacted the individual and found their ID was used for classes and tuition, officers reported this to the bursar, and the individual’s name was flagged.
