WSU sponsors float in Utah Pride Parade for second year
For the second straight year, Weber State University sponsored a float in the Utah Pride Parade on Sunday.
Weber State’s float was one of 30 in the parade that traveled roughly a mile down the streets of Salt Lake City Sunday morning. More than 35,000 participants and spectators showed up to the Utah Pride Festival and Parade over the weekend.
Last year, Weber State’s float took second place among floats sponsored by non-profit organizations.

American Ninja Warrior finalist opens gym in Ogden
Ogden residents will now be able to hone their “ninja skills” thanks to the new Ninja Warehouse that opened this week.
Owner Karson Voiles of West Haven is a three-time contestant on the show “American Ninja Warrior,” a competition where contestants attempt to complete an obstacle course that tests their physical abilities. Voiles reached the national finals round last year before he was eliminated after falling on the “Jumping Spider” obstacle.
The Ninja Warehouse will allow visitors the opportunity to train on obstacles similar to the ones featured on the show. Day passes for the gym start at $15 and monthly memberships start at $75 per month.

Boil advisory in effect for Clinton and Syracuse after water samples test positive for E. coli
Residents in Clinton and Syracuse received notice over the weekend that all tap water must be boiled before it can be consumed after water samples tested positive for E. coli
City officials in Syracuse recommended that all residents boil tap water for at least one minute before use or use bottled water instead.
The boil notice in both cities will remain in effect indefinitely as of Monday afternoon. The Clinton and Syracuse websites and Facebook pages will provide updates as they become available.

American Pharoah first horse to win Triple Crown in 37 years
Three-year-old thoroughbred American Pharoah became the first horse in 37 years to win the Triple Crown on Saturday at the Belmont Stakes.
The Triple Crown is awarded to the horse that wins the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in a single racing season. American Pharoah is just the 12th horse ever to win the Triple Crown and the first to win it since Affirmed in 1978.
American Pharoah won the Belmont Stakes by a margin of 5 1/2 lengths, and his time of 2:26.65 was the sixth-fastest winning time in the history of the Belmont.
