Dive-In:
Looking for a way to destress from the fear of finals week soon approaching? In honor of the Christmas season and finals quickly approaching, WSUSA will be hosting a Dive-In movie featuring the holiday favorite, “Elf.” The event will take place in the Swenson Pool on Dec 7. The movie will begin at 7:45 p.m., leaving just enough study time afterwards, so you can have fun and keep the stress at bay.
“It’s a free event that is not only fun but relaxing,” said Victoria Heap, WSU Junior who attended the last Dive-In movie which featured “Pirates of the Caribbean.” “Plus, I love ‘Elf’, so I know I will have a good time relaxing in the pool.”
In order to get the word out, WSUSA will be putting up flyers, posting on their Facebook page and will even be creating a promo video. Keep an eye out for the flyers, so you don’t miss a hilarious night with Buddy the Elf.
Snow Days:
When the snow comes, some people just want to cuddle up in some blankets with hot chocolate and watch movies all day. In an effort to spark some interest of getting out of the house, Weber State will be hosting an arts and crafts event, Snow Days. The family-friendly event will give families the chance to participate in crafts. Although the crafts are geared for kids ages three to twelve, they can be made for all ages to enjoy.
“Kids and parents feel cooped up during the winter,” said Lydia Gravis, Visual Arts Outreach coordinator, “This is a great opportunity to get out of the house on Saturday morning and engage in something creative for a couple hours.”
Snow Days will also provide both English and Spanish speaking teachers for a diverse art experience. The event will be held in the Kimball Arts Center Lobby. The first day of this small program will begin in on Dec. 3 and will happen again on Feb. 4 and March 4. The activities will be held from 10 a.m until noon.
