What’s something that doesn’t breathe but lives all over the world, throughout time? Music.

On April 6 at 7:30 p.m., Weber State University’s Browning Center will be hosting the Spring Choir Fest where the choir classes will be performing an array of different songs from an array of different times and performances.

The festival, consisting of 16 different works, will last just over one hour.

The director, Mark Henderson, has been the WSU choir conductor for 35 years.

“The Choir Fest is an annual tradition that summarizes the year’s work of both choirs. This is a particularly diverse concert each year. For example, we are performing everything from classical music to spirituals to a medley of crazy hoedown folk dances,” Henderson said. “We are also performing several American works that we are also taking on tour this summer to Spain. There’s even an arrangement of the Billy Joel song ‘And So It Goes.’”

Jessica Harrison, a sophomore who will be performing in the Choir Festival, says this range of different music is what makes it so enjoyable for her.

“I’m excited about it. It’s going to be really fun,” she said. “(The songs) are all really different. We’re singing Scandinavian stuff, Spanish stuff, even a piece a student wrote.”

Tickets for the event can be bought for $7 and students can get their tickets for $6.
