Love is in the air all February long. Couples looking for entertaining dates—without a hefty price tag—check out these date night delights in this week’s Cheap Weekly.
Tucked away just a block west of Ogden Junction, Moviegrille is a cinema experience unlike any other. The food menu is likened to a casual restaurant, complete with burgers, salads and artisan pizzas. Moviegrille is more of a restaurant inside a movie theater. Servers take your order before the movie begins and bring it right to your seat when it’s ready.
Offering cozy reclining seats and an intimate theater setting, it’s almost hard to believe the modest admission price. Couples who book online can enjoy a movie for two for a total of $3 on Tuesdays. Wednesday is date night at Moviegrille—two movie tickets, two drinks and a large popcorn for $15. If you’re looking for a bargain that works any day of the week, look to the current Moviegrille Groupon deal, which offers two movie tickets and a small popcorn for only $7.

The venue has also hosted multiple special guests from all over the country; most recently, it hosted New York comedian Todd Barry and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. Shows range from $10 to $25 per person, but they offer a two for the price of one deal for certain events. Wednesdays are open mic nights and are only $5 per person. Wiseguys serves a wide range of food and alcoholic drinks. You must be 21 or older to enter.
Ogden Unplugged
Looking for a place to relax and enjoy some good music? Take your sweetheart over to Lighthouse Lounge any Thursday night to see Ogden Unplugged. Hosted by local music icon Jon Turner, Ogden Unplugged features an acoustic performance from a different artist each week.
All shows begin with an open mic night starting at 7 p.m., with the main show starting at 9 p.m. Host Jon Turner said, “Ogden Unplugged is a great opportunity to showcase local talent.” It’s also a great reason to take your date out on the cheap. Lighthouse Lounge is a staple of Ogden’s Historic 25th street and serves as a perfect venue for Ogden Unplugged. They feature a reasonably priced menu, full bar and $3 draft Pabst Blue Ribbon. This week’s musical contributor will be Lorin Cook on Feb. 4. You must be 21 or older to enter.
