The holiday season is among us and Utah has so many festivities to offer. Whether you are out with your family, trying to impress your date or just need to get in the holiday spirit, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Here are our top four picks this season:
The Jingle Bus
Beginning Nov. 27 through Dec. 28, Jingle Bus in downtown Salt Lake will be awaiting visitors to hop-on and off as it circulates through The Gateway, Temple Square, City Creek Center Gallivan Plaza and Capitol Theatre.
The Jingle Bus is holiday themed and provides visitors a fun way of looking at Christmas lights, storefront decorations and Salt Lake’s festive downtown area. Shoppers that wish to get toted between City Creek and The Gateway will find this free ride a nice way to get around this holiday.
You can catch the Jingle Bus seven days a week from 5 to 10 p.m.
Zoo Lights
Make your way down to Hogle Zoo between Dec. 3 to Dec. 31st to see over 250 animated light displays. There will also be lit pathways that visitors can walk through wearing hologram glasses, including a 135-foot lighted tunnel.
After you’re done browsing the different light displays, you can grab a cup of hot chocolate and head over to the Macy’s Santa Station to see Santa.
Zoo Lights are open Sunday to Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 5:30 to 9p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children.
Dickens’ Christmas Festival
Beginning Dec. 10 to Dec. 12, the Dickens’ Christmas Festival will be returning to Salt Lake City at the South Towne Expo Center.
This years festival is “Olde London Towne” themed and will feature narrow village streets that visitors will wind through while shopping for gifts at the different booths. There will also be many performances that are sure to get people in the holiday spirit.
The festival is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12.
Light Displays
Sugarhouse Christmas Street has been known to have one of the best cul-de-sac light displays in Salt Lake for the past 60 years. Grab a cozy blanket and turn on your favorite Christmas music and head over to 1500 E 1735 S for a holiday drive.
Frosty’s Winter Wonderland is done by a family who fill’s their yard and covers their house will hundreds of lights and Christmas displays. The displays are turned on at 6 p.m. and stay on until 11 p.m. You can find this festive house at 805 E 18th Ave in Salt Lake.
The Temple Square light display in Salt Lake City is guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit with walkways lined by trees decorated with thousands of lights. The free display goes on at 5:30 p.m. and is available to see Nov. 27 to Dec. 31.
