MacKenzie Harrison named Big Sky Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week
Junior MacKenzie Harrison was named Big Sky Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week last week, after helping lead the Weber State soccer team to two home-field victories.
Harrison recorded two assists in the Wildcats’ home matches, and scored the game-winning goal against Wyoming in overtime.
Harrison shared the honor with Southern Utah freshman Allie Thimsen, who scored her first two career goals in a match against California State University, Bakersfield.
The Wildcats return home this weekend, as they host Hawaii on Friday, and UTEP on Sunday.
Men’s golf team finishes in fifth place
In their first tournament of the season, the Wildcats finished in fifth place at the Battle of the Tetons with a total team score of 887.
Junior Devon Purser led the Wildcats with a score of 220, good enough to place in a tie for 13th place individually. Junior Colton Dallimore finished with a score of 221, while freshman Sean Badger recorded a score of 222, good enough for 18th and 20th place respectively.
Utah State finished in first place with a score of 857, beating out Utah Valley by seven strokes. Fidel Concepcion of Southern Utah finished the tournament in first place individually, recording a seven-under-par score of 209.
Pair of Wildcats named women’s golf Big Sky Conference co-Players of the Week
Junior Emily Podlesny and freshman Madi Rooker were named Big Sky Conference co-Players of the Week after tying for second place at the Wildcat Invitational.
Podlesny and Rooker both finished with an even-par 72 score, helping lead Weber State to the team victory. Kim Nyhus of Utah Valley won the event with a score of 71.
This is the second career Player of the Week honors for Podlesny, while it was Rooker’s first.
