Events:

There were two main events discussed at the beginning of the meeting, mainly the Weber State Halloween event that will include free bowling and movies for students who are on campus on Oct. 31, there will also be free food provided to those in attendance.

The other event discussed was the LEAD Weber event, which offers students the chance to win an iPad or $200 of funding for two different clubs. The event will be held on Oct. 30 from noon to 5 p.m., and will feature Drew Dudley as a speaker. There will also be breakout rooms for students to choose to be a part of with different professors and professionals.

After the LEAD Weber event there will also be a Halloween rave in Wildcat Lanes and Games, being put on by KWCR Wildcat Radio at 5 p.m. Those in attendance will see a costume contest and be able to dance to music put on by the club.

Sports:

Volleyball will have a game on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. against Portland State University that will include a trunk or treat beforehand that is open to those of all ages.

The Wildcat hockey team has three home games this weekend. On Oct. 30 against the University of Providence Argos, on Oct. 31 against Montana State University and on Nov. 1 against the University of Montana. All games will begin at 7:15 p.m.

On Nov. 1, football plays against the University of Montana. Students are encouraged to wear camo. There will be food vouchers handed out throughout the game and the Weber State Senate will be distributing merch as well from their own table.

Budget:

There was a funding request made to the senate for an upcoming Diwali: Festival of Lights event.

The request was valued at $800 as they had requested the same value as other departments. The senate was also informed that most of the remaining funds that were required would be provided by the Student Success Center.

After discussion, one senator offered an amended amount of $1,200 be made in this case. The senator made the case that in years past this was a well attended event, and that it should be provided more funding to help provide the right amount of food.

Another senator then voiced their concerns with such a large increase and offered an amended amount of $1,000.

The senate then motioned for the vote on approval to be made day of as the event is scheduled to be put on Nov 4. The senate then passed the vote and funding of $1,000 will be provided for the event.

If clubs wish to look for more funding for future events, formal applications are open to the senate for those who need them.
