The Weber State University Student Association Clubs and Organizations (WSUSA C&O) team hosted a Bowling for Quarters and Cans event on Dec. 2.
“As the holidays quickly approach, we want to support our on campus food pantry, Weber Cares,” Tessa Diamond, C&O representative and the host of this event, said. “We want to raise awareness about what Weber Cares does and how vital it is to the health of our students.”
WSUSA C&O is working in collaboration with Weber Cares for this event. Each time a bowler gets a spare or a strike, a quarter or a can will be donated to the Weber Cares Food Pantry.
“We are excited to have a heck of a party while supporting our peers,” Diamond said. “Come ready to bowl your best game ever.”
Weber Cares Food Pantry is available for students to fill bags with food, increase their healthy eating options, decrease food insecurity and increase students’ ability to finish school successfully. It is open Monday through Friday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Building, room 402
There is also a second option students can choose from that includes a voucher program. The voucher program is designed for students who need an emergency food option. Students receive a $10 food voucher that can be used at any of the Sodexo food venues on-campus. Students can receive up to one food voucher a month by completing different tasks.
If you would like to donate non-perishable food items to Weber Cares, contact the CCEL office at 801-626-7727 or [email protected].
This event is free, aside from the $2 shoe rental for each bowler, and it is open to everyone. Bowling will take place from 7-9 p.m. in the WSU Wildcat Lanes.
