Now that February is here I’m sure many girls are looking for a cute new red dress for their Valentine’s Day activities, but what if just by wearing a red dress you could spread awareness about women’s heart health too?
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of women. One in three women will die of heart disease or a stroke. Therefore, all this month, the American Heart Association is helping to bring awareness by having Red Dress events around the nation.
The Weber State University Women’s Center is holding its own Red Dress event on Feb. 12 in the Shepherd Union from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This event gives everyone a perfect excuse to get a brand new red dress.
There are plenty of dress styles to choose from. You can either go formal or casual, and if you already have a red dress, treat yourself to a new pair of red shoes or lipstick to match.
After you have picked up all your red attire needed, don’t forget to attend the the Red Dress Event for fun, food and to learn easy ways to keep your heart healthy.
