Friday, September 11, the Weber State Women’s Tennis team traveled to Logan, opening their fall schedule with the Aggie Invitational.

In singles, seniors Agata Bachanek and Kristi Elmer both won their first match against Idaho State before losing to Utah State in the next round.

Sophomore Dominique Beauvais won her first round match before losing in the second round. Freshman Sara Parker lost in the first round.

Where Weber State showed their strength was in doubles with Beauvais and Parker winning their flight. They took down teams from Idaho State and two teams from Utah State.

Bachanek and Elmer found some success as well, winning their first round match.

Something both Sara and Dominique stressed was how well this team gets along, saying, “We’ve gelled really well, and we all get along really well.”

When asked about the addition of the freshman JJ Bitton and Sara Parker, Dominique stated, “I definitely think the new girls are a great addition to the team. They will definitely be a big asset to our team.”

The team travels to Boise, Idaho on Friday, September 25 for the Boise State Hidden Duel, which pitches them against Boise State, Eastern Washington and Montana. All results are courtesy of the Weber State Athletics website.

I'd like to thank Sara Parker for agreeing and taking time out of her day for a last-minute photo shoot, despite the rain (Gabe Cerritos / The Signpost).
