The Women’s volleyball team is gearing up for another season in the Big Sky Conference. One player from last year’s team is Audrey Biggs, a senior from Pleasant Grove, Utah who is looking to make splash in the conference this season.

“The season is always really exciting, it is definitely difficult to start on the road for the first four weeks of the season,” Biggs said. “It’s hard being away from home, but at the same time if you can win on the road then you know you can get those wins at home.”

Biggs is a team leader on and off the court and is excited for the upcoming season.

“I think we are going to make a ton of improvements this year,” she said. “I think last year we struggled in a couple areas and with the addition of a couple players, but I think we have improved those areas a lot and mentally we are a more focused team.”

Last season Biggs lead the way with 348 kills and hit .159. She had a career-high of 19 kills when the Wildcats took on Northern Colorado back in November and earned a double-double where she had 14 digs and 17 kills against Southern Utah.

“It was an honor to be voted MVP last year, and I really appreciate my coaches and teammates for placing me with that honor,” Biggs said. “But it gave me more motivation to have a winning season during my season year.”

With the 348 kills last season does she expect to break that record for this year? “I plan to,” Biggs said. “You don’t know what is going to happen in the world of volleyball.”

Head coach Tom Peterson had a few encouraging statements about his senior outside hitter.

“We are going to rely on her arm,” Peterson said. “At times she is going to be more consistent, and being a senior all the other teams are going to try and stop her.”

Biggs is ready to start the season as the Wildcats will be heading on the road for four straight weeks starting in Maryland before their first game in Ogden on Sept. 25, but Biggs wants to let everyone know to watch out for the Wildcats this year.

“I think it’s time Weber State made it to conference tournament and we are not just the underdogs anymore,” she said.
