Preview: Balance & Composure team up with 3 more great bands

Typically, bands go on full U.S. tours because they have recently put out a brand-new album. With Balance and Composure releasing their newest album on Sept. 10, they decided to team up with three powerhouse bands to make for one unforgettable night.

Title Fight is a four-piece, hardcore band from Kingston, Penn., that has mastered their genre of music. With the release of “Floral Green” last September, Title Fight has been nothing but the talk of the town. “Floral Green” encompasses everything Title Fight stands for, but with some tracks that carry them out of their comfort zone. “Head In The Ceiling Fan” (No. 5) dives deep into that ’90s grunge/alt rock sound that fans have never heard from them, but accept it as one of the best tracks on that album. With their raw energy and upbeat performances, Title Fight alone is not one to miss. Last November, Title Fight played a show here in Ogden at Mojo’s that got shut down due to the number of fans who showed up. They promised us that they would make it back, and sure enough, they did.

With Balance and Composure releasing “The Things We Think We’re Missing,” they are at the prime of their careers. They are a five-piece band from Doylestown, Penn., that can make any listener jump out of their seats. With signs of ’90s influences on their latest album, Balance and Composure gives a new meaning to the term melodic rock. Their lively sets and high-energy performances go hand in hand with their powerful music. Balance and Composure’s first headlining tour was last January, and nearly sold out every venue they played. This band is climbing to the top and should not be overlooked.

Cruel Hand is a five-member hardcore band that comes from Portland, Maine. Reaching down to their roots, Cruel Hand has brought back that raw hardcore style that many bands have shied away from. With influences from bands such as Metallica and Madball, Cruel Hand powers down with fast and powerful metal guitars and heavy breakdowns. After signing with Bridge Nine, one of the largest record labels in 2008, they have really made a name for themselves in the hardcore scene. Their performances are nothing but loud and full of energy every time.

Slingshot Dakota is far from any band on this tour, but simply completes this well-rounded group of musicians. Originally a four-piece band, Slingshot Dakota narrowed down to a two-member band in 2006. With Carly Comando on the keyboards and Tom Patterson on the drums, they create uplifting melodies that will touch anyone’s heart. As they both share the vocals during their sets, fans are amazed with how well this band works together with only two instruments. Their poppy sound and indie rock influences drive them to be one of the greatest of this generation. Slingshot Dakota can spark a flame at any show they perform at with the enthusiasm they bring with them.

This superior lineup is one for the books and should not be missed. Coming all the way from the East Coast, this force is going across the United States to open everyone’s eyes to new music and new bands. You can catch all of these bands at In the Venue on Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $15.50. This tour will most likely sell out every venue they play in, so make sure to grab tickets as soon as possible.Title Fight poster
