Trespasser
On Oct. 20 at around 1 a.m., Weber State University Police Department officers patrolling near the Weber County Ice Sheet spotted an individual walking their bike up 4400 South. Upon spotting the officers, the individual switched courses and walked the other way. The individual was recognised by officers as someone who regularly attempted to set up camp near the Ice Sheet. The officers trespassed them, and confiscated a joint.
No homeless architects
On Oct. 22, WSUPD officers received reports of homeless rebuilding encampments near the Ice Sheet. The officers’ investigations revealed no evidence of attempts to construct shelter.
4 Paws 4 Patriots
On Oct. 23, a WSUPD officer was approached by two individuals during a patrol of the Shepherd Union building. The individuals were part of an organization called “4 Paws 4 Patriots.” The individuals asked the officer for help in a training exercise in which veterans with PTSD are asked about their dog. After providing help the officer left.
Stalking injunction service
On Oct. 24, the second district court gave officers a stalking injunction to serve a student on campus. Upon delivering the stalking injunction to the respondent, officer notified the individual who sought the injunction.
Designated driver
On Oct. 24 at around 10:30 p.m., WSUPD officers were dispatched to University Village on reports of alcohol consumption. The reports stated individuals were drinking before leaving for their car. Upon arrival officers confirmed individuals were drinking in the dorm. The individuals in the car were all found to be drunk except for the driver, they were informed alcohol is against campus policy, and were free to go.
Presentation practice
On Oct. 25 around 1:15 p.m., WSUPD officers received reports of disorderly behavior at the library. An individual at the library was reported to be talking to themselves. When the officers arrived it was found that the individual was rehearsing for a presentation. The officers made sure all staff and students were okay and cleared the case.
